Wildflower and visitor

From the butterfly garden at Gallup Park, Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The little guy on this flower is almost perfectly colored for camouflage!  Nikon D800, Tokina 100mm, f/5.6, 1/100 sec, ISO 200.

  1. That little guy has a great disguise! Did you know it was there before you took the picture or discover it after?

    • I saw him before I made my first photo, but only *after* I decided I was going to shoot the flower. Once I did see him, I lowered the tripod down close to his eye level.
