Dune Grass

Dune grass

Dune grass at Portage Point, Lake Michigan.  Nikon D80, 35mm, f/7.1, 1/80 sec, ISO 200.  Tiffen 812 warming filter.

Apologies for the delay since my last post — it’s been a busy summer.  :) My photography has taken a back seat to work and travel for a while now, but I’ve managed to take my camera along with me here and there.  Now it’s just a matter of catching up on the processing!

Portage Point is a true gem – north of Manistee, Michigan but south of Frankfort.

    • Thanks Pablo! This shot was taken at the “Golden Hour”, and with the warming filter, as well, the gold tones really came out. I have a few other shots I may post where the grass appears much greener. I do love the warm tones here though.

  2. I’ve always thought the wild grasses were so beautiful. A very calming effect.

    • My pleasure! And likewise! :) I remember my first trip out to Lake Michigan as an adult… I was very impressed with — and actually a bit surprised by — the natural beauty here!

    • It was a gorgeous day — but the water was still quite chilly! Kids didn’t mind, though! :)
