Snow snakes lined up before the competition

Throwing snow snakes is a traditional Native American sport, and the best throwers can send their snow snakes across the ice and snow at more than 100 mph.  The snow snakes here were carved and painted by dads and kids in YMCA Adventure Guides (Plymouth, Canton, Livonia, Belleville area) for the annual winter camp out last weekend.  While I’m pretty sure that none of them hit 100 mph, we all had a blast making and throwing them!

Some tips for making your own snow snake here.
